Rishikesh — the Ganga meets the Himalayas
✦ Opening 2027

Rishikesh

Where the Himalayas meet the Ganga. Yoga, river, adventure, and profound stillness.

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand
Rishikesh is where India comes to find itself. The Beatles came here in 1968 and left transformed. Millions have followed since — some for the yoga, some for the white-water rafting, some for the sound of the Ganga at 4am when everything else is silent.
The city

Adventure, yoga, and the Ganga

Rishikesh is India's spiritual adventure capital — a rare city where white-water rafting and sunrise yoga exist within the same afternoon.

The Ganga runs clear and cold through Rishikesh, straight from the Himalayas. The famous Laxman Jhula suspension bridge, the ghats lined with ashrams, the smell of incense mixed with mountain air — Rishikesh has a sensory signature unlike anywhere else in India.

This is the world's yoga capital — more ashrams per square kilometre than anywhere on earth. But it's also a world-class adventure destination: white-water rafting grades 3–5, bungee jumping, camping, and trekking trails into the high Himalayas.

The Beatles Ashram (Chaurasi Kutia) sits abandoned in the jungle — covered in murals and legends. Rishikesh doesn't let you remain unmoved.

When to go to Rishikesh

✦ Ideal

September — June

Rishikesh is exceptional almost year-round. October–November for cool clarity. February–April for the International Yoga Festival. May–June before the heat peaks.

Scenic

December — January

Cold but extraordinarily beautiful. The Ganga is crystal clear, the mountains are snow-capped, and the ashrams are quiet. Perfect for serious retreat-seekers.

Avoid for Adventure

July — August

Monsoon season — heavy rains and the Ganga swells dangerously. White-water rafting is banned for safety. Beautiful if you're here purely for yoga or meditation.
